VALENTINE: We don't need a divided opposition, AKI has suffered the departure of key figures

VLEN has reacted after Ziadin Sela's departure from the AKI coalition. VLEN says they are concerned about the turbulence that is taking place within the Albanian opposition camp, developments that, according to them, serve neither democracy, nor political stability, nor the interests of citizens.
VALEN says that within a short period, the AKI has suffered successive departures of key figures: the departure of Menduh Thaçi, the departure of Arjan Hoxha and most recently, the departure of Ziadin Sela.
"These are not random movements. These are signs of a political structure that is disintegrating, that has lost its orientation, internal confidence and the way forward. VALEN is not happy about this. On the contrary: VALEN needs a strong, responsible and coherent opposition. Not a "piecemeal" opposition, not an opposition that splits every week, not an opposition that is afraid of debate and transparency."
"A weak opposition does not harm VALEN, it harms the country's political system, damages the democratic balance and leaves the citizen without a real alternative. Therefore, we call on all political entities that call themselves opposition to restore the prudence, seriousness and responsibility that the moment requires. VALEN is here to cooperate with any political force that is serious about reform, that respects institutions, and that serves the citizen, not personal interests, not bargaining, not internal wars."
"Citizens deserve stability. Citizens deserve serious options. Citizens deserve responsible politics. VLEN will continue with force on the path of change, without stopping or departing from its principles. But this path becomes fairer, healthier and more democratic when faced with an opposition that is functional, not an opposition that falls apart before the eyes of the people," say VLEN.
