It's not Jurgen Klopp, Real Madrid finds Xabi Alonso's successor

Real Madrid have put Zinedine Zidane at the top of the list of possible replacements for Xabi Alonso, should the current coach leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
The French legend's return to the Spanish capital is being seriously considered by president Florentino Perez, who has always maintained excellent relations with him.
Zidane has not managed a team since 2021, when he left Real Madrid, citing a lack of support from the club's management. During his two spells as Madrid coach, he made history by leading Los Blancos to three consecutive Champions League titles, an achievement unmatched in modern football.
The report states that Zidane continues to enjoy the absolute trust of Perez, who considers him an ideal combination of authority, charisma and deep knowledge of the club. His influence in the dressing room has always been strong, while many of Madrid's current stars have previously worked under him.

However, the situation is not entirely clear. Zidane has been seen as the next France coach for years and expectations are that he will take charge of the national team in the summer of 2026. The French Football Federation has long considered him the ideal successor to Didier Deschamps.
However, Real Madrid are keeping all options open. Jurgen Klopp is another name that is being considered by the club's management. Although the German coach is currently on leave, his modern profile and strong personality are well-liked at the Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, there is a third option within the club: Castilla coach Alvaro Arbeloa, who is highly regarded by Real Madrid's sporting structure. Arbeloa is awaiting developments and is considered an internal candidate for the position, should the club decide to invest in continuity and the development of long-term projects.
The future of Real Madrid's bench will largely depend on the decision of Xabi Alonso, who continues to be monitored by other big clubs in Europe. At the moment he leaves, Zidane remains the first name on the list.Telegrafi/
