Israel hits Gaza refugee camps with rockets, at least 23 dead

A family of 10 was among at least 23 people killed in Gaza by Israeli airstrikes overnight, local health officials said.

Five children, four women and a man from the same family, identified by the Associated Press as the Abu Al-Rous family, died when an Israeli airstrike hit the tent where they were staying in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

"They all had suffered severe burns," said Nasser Hospital, which received the bodies, writes sky news.

Nine children were reportedly among 13 people killed in other Israeli strikes in northern Gaza, according to the Gaza Indonesian Hospital.

The Israeli military said it tries to avoid harming civilians and blames Hamas for their deaths because it operates in populated areas.

Otherwise, the latest reported casualties of the conflict come as the humanitarian crisis there worsens. /Telegraph/
