The Israeli Air Force has released a recording of what it says is a conversation between one of its fighter pilots and an American fighter pilot.

The Israeli pilot can be heard telling his American counterpart that it is an "honor for us to fight with you."

"Please stay safe out there, hit hard," the American pilot responds.

And these recordings come on the day that US President Donald Trump has reiterated

previous comments that US military operations in the country are "a few weeks... [a] few weeks of excursion."

The US president then also reiterates that Iran's military and naval capabilities have been paralyzed by US attacks.

"We took down their leadership twice and now they have a new group coming in. Let's see what happens to them," Trump added.

Iran announced Mojtaba Khamenei as its new supreme leader on Sunday, succeeding his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the first US-Israeli strikes on February 28. /Telegrafi/
