Israel kills two Palestinians, despite them appearing to surrender

Israeli forces killed two Palestinian men in the West Bank after they appeared to surrender.
Palestinians said the killings, which were filmed and shown on two Arab television channels, were carried out "in cold blood."
In the video, the men are seen exiting a building and lying on the ground in front of Israeli forces in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
Both men lifted their shirts and held their hands up, apparently to indicate that they were not carrying weapons or explosives.
Soldiers then appeared to order the men back inside the building before they were shot.
A Reuters journalist in the area saw the men leave the building, appearing to surrender, and later, after hearing gunshots, saw Israeli forces standing near what appeared to be a dead body.
The men were identified as al Muntasir Abdullah, 26, and Yousef Asasa, 37, by Palestinian authorities.

What has Israel said about the incident?
A joint statement between the Israel Defense Forces and the Israeli police said: "Earlier during an operation by the Israeli Border Police and the IDF in the Jenin area, the forces acted to capture wanted individuals who had carried out terrorist activities, including throwing explosives and shooting at security forces."
"The wanted individuals were linked to a terrorist network in the Jenin area," the statement added.
"The forces entered the area, surrounded the structure in which the suspects were located, and began a surrender procedure that lasted several hours. After using engineering tools in the structure, the two suspects emerged."
"After they came out, shots were fired at the suspects."
"The incident is being reviewed by field commanders and will be transferred to the relevant professional bodies."
But Palestinians and human rights groups say Israeli investigations into such incidents yield few results, with Israeli troops rarely prosecuted. /Telegraph/
