About 50 Israeli warplanes have struck an underground bunker built for Iran's supreme leader, his military said.

The Israeli Defense Forces said the operation was carried out in central Tehran this morning, with the bunker located beneath the Iranian regime's leadership compound.

Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed in the first US-Israeli strikes last Saturday.

"Khamenei was eliminated before he could use the bunker during the operation, but the complex continued to be used by senior Iranian regime officials," the IDF said.

Otherwise, US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has "lost everything" and has ruled out the need for a ground invasion for now, calling such an action a "waste of time."

As the conflict enters its seventh day, the US president called comments by the Iranian foreign minister about Iran's readiness for a ground invasion a "nonsense comment" and suggested that this is not something he is currently thinking about.

"It's a waste of time. They've lost everything. They've lost their navy. They've lost everything they can lose," Trump said. /Telegraph/
