The formation of the Armed Forces of Kosovo should be done in cooperation with international allies, passing through the Assembly of Kosovo.
This is what security expert Avni Islami said.
He said that the best way to form the Armed Forces is through constitutional changes, passing through the Assembly of Kosovo.
However, according to him, for now this issue seems to be impossible because of the Serbian List, which has openly declared that it will not vote for such a thing.
"It would be appropriate for the formation of the Armed Forces of Kosovo to be done in cooperation and coordination with the international factor. And on the other hand, if there are no legal effects, the Government of Kosovo would have to take it to the Assembly of Kosovo, to approve the formation of the Kosovo army through the law," he told RTK.
Islami even says that the formation of the Kosovo Army would also affect regional security.
"This is a kind of pressure on the international community to form the Kosovo Army as soon as possible, because I have not heard that a state with sovereignty and territorial integrity does not have its own army!", he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister of the Security Force of Kosovo, Rrustem Berisha, said that the legal changes for the establishment of the army have been made and that they are now expected to be passed in the Assembly.
"Before submitting them to the Government, we have received the statement from the Ministry of Finance on the budgetary impact and from the Ministry of Integration on the compatibility of the laws with those of the EU, and we are now waiting for the Government's work on when we will proceed further", he said.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, also stated that the Kosovo Army will be established in a very quick period, days ago in a media conference, where he said that in one form or another the Armed Forces of Kosovo will are formed.
He had also presented the plan for the transfer of the KSF to the army to accredited ambassadors and other international representatives serving in Kosovo.
The KSF was established in 2009, and the mission of this force is to conduct crisis response operations in Kosovo and abroad, civil defense operations within Kosovo, and assist civil authorities in responding to natural disasters and other emergencies. .
