Following the Nations League draw in Brussels, Republic of Ireland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson commented on Group B3, which in addition to his team also includes Kosovo, Austria and Israel.
The Irish coach described the group as very strong and challenging for all participating national teams, particularly highlighting Kosovo's recent form.
"It's an interesting group. It's going to be tough for us, we have strong opponents. And even Kosovo, who were the lowest ranked in our group, have had a really impressive run from the last 15 matches, with two losses, two draws and 11 wins."
"So, it's really an impressive performance," Hallgrimson said on Thursday, immediately after the draw.
The Irish selector's words confirm that Kosovo is no longer seen as an easy opponent on the international stage.
