Investments in the army, Kurti promises to allocate 1 billion euros in the next mandate

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at today's government meeting, spoke again about the four-year governing mandate.

Kurti stated that out of 254 government meetings held so far, 2257 decisions have been made for the benefit of citizens and economic development, reforms necessary for progress and the protection of state and public interest.

The Prime Minister mentioned that despite challenges, including the opposition's appeals to the Constitutional Court for many decisions, the government has achieved extraordinary results.

"In the face of the pandemic, in the face of energy crises and inflation caused by the war in Ukraine, despite the obstacles and frustrating delays with opposition complaints to the Constitutional Court that blocked many things, including the price ceiling for basic products, and despite paramilitary and terrorist attacks and Serbia's continued efforts to destabilize, and above the loud noise of the evening television debates, our government has achieved extraordinary results," Kurti said.

Mentioning some of the results achieved that he called extraordinary, Kurti also mentioned the issue of the budget for the army.

The Prime Minister promised that over 1 billion euros will be allocated to the army in the next mandate.

"The budget for the army has tripled, investments in armaments have multiplied, including the Bayraktar drones and the contract for the operationalization of the ammunition factory. We will allocate over 1 billion euros to the new mandate of the army and we will have a 'Made in Kosovo' military drone ammunition factory that we will produce ourselves," Kurti said.

He mentioned visa liberalization and Kosovo's representation in CEFTA without UNMIK as successes, writes Telegrafi.

Another achievement, Kurti mentioned the health sector, where he promised that in the next mandate they will increase the budget for the essential list of medicines up to 100 million euros.

"Public health has become better, cheaper and we have more services, we have transformed most of the clinics, many of the vital services for citizens have been made free of charge and some at more affordable prices. We will continue the mandate that awaits us with investments hospital after hospital, we will build two new hospitals and six specialist polyclinics and we will increase the budget for the list of essential medicines, which is already at a record level, to 100 million euros," said Kurti.

Kurti said that for the first time in the four municipalities in the north, electricity is being paid, and property taxes have also begun to be billed.

"There are no more illegal license plates and driver's licenses because they have been converted to RKS. The illegal structures have been closed and Kosovo institutions that serve citizens without distinction now operate there. With the government for the family program, we have about 530 employees in the north of Serbian nationality," he said.

The Prime Minister mentioned the increase in pensions and allowances for mothers and children.

He also mentioned the increase in salaries in the public sector, and the increase in the minimum wage in the private sector, which he said will increase by over 500 euros in the next mandate.

"We have increased pensions by over 300 thousand pensioners, they have increased by 20%, in addition to the regular increase, everyone has received a supplement of 100 euros five times during our mandate. Around 70 thousand mothers have again received supplements from the state for the first time, as have over 400 thousand children. For children, we have doubled and tripled the supplements. We have increased the salary in the public sector three times, in the private sector the minimum wage twice. From 130-170 we have found it to 265 euros and from 265 to 350 euros. In the next mandate, we will increase it again to over 500 euros", said Kurti. /Telegraph/
