Capocannoniere and Scudetto winner Inter captain Lautaro Martinez has been named the best player of the 2023/2024 Serie A season.
At the awards ceremony, Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic was named the best striker of the season, but Lautaro Martinez beat him to the top prize.
Not only did Martinez lead Inter to the title as captain, he was also the top scorer in Italian football's elite with 24 goals.
"Lautaro Martinez's season has been outstanding in terms of performance and leadership. The Inter striker with his charisma and movements has represented the perfect captain who united the group that deservedly won the Scudetto".
"In his third consecutive season with over 20 goals scored in Serie A, the World Cup-winning Argentine is now a great player, a treasure for Inter and our league, capable of being decisive at key moments of the season. ", said the boss of Serie A, Luigi De Siervo.
All the winners of the 'Best Player' awards will be presented in the final matches of the 2023/2024 Serie A season this weekend.
