Inflation in Kosovo reaches 5,3% in December 2025, electricity and food prices increase significantly

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (HCPI) for December 2025, according to which annual inflation reached 5,3 percent, while monthly inflation reached 0,7 percent.
According to ASK, the overall consumer price index in December 2025 was 5,3 percent higher compared to December 2024. Meanwhile, compared to November 2025, prices increased by an average of 0,7 percent.
The average annual inflation rate for 2025 was 3,9 percent, marking an increase in the consumer price index compared to 2024.
The increase in prices during 2025 was mainly observed in several COICOP groups and subgroups, including coffee, tea and cocoa (15,2%), services related to personal transport equipment (11,6%), fruits (11,5%), electricity (11,4%), meat (11,0%), and organized holidays (10,3%). Oils and fats, dairy products, hotel and outpatient services also recorded significant increases.
In the comparison of December 2025 with December 2024, the largest price increases were recorded in fruits (19,0%), electricity (18,3%), services related to personal transport (18,1%), maintenance of transport vehicles (14,7%) and meat (14,4%).
Meanwhile, at a monthly level, from November to December 2025, price increases were driven mainly by electricity (8,7%), flight tickets (8,4%), solid fuels such as wood and pellets (3,0%), vegetables (2,9%) and road transport tickets (2,2%).
KAS announces that a decline in prices has been observed in fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment, both on an annual and monthly basis, having a negative impact on the HICP./Telegrafi/
