Indictment filed against 37-year-old driver from Skopje, fatally hit cyclist

The public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecution Office in Skopje filed an indictment against a 37-year-old person from Skopje who is suspected of having committed the criminal offense "Serious crimes against the safety of people and property in traffic", the Basic Public Prosecution Office announced.
"The defendant is accused of driving a "Volkswagen Passat" car on "Goce Delchev" Boulevard in Skopje on 03.11.2025, around noon, but did not respect the regulations, thus endangering public traffic and people's lives.
Before the intersection with "Lazar Liçenoski" street, at a pedestrian crossing, he did not reduce his speed and drove at 53 km/h, i.e. more than the speed limit in the settlement. He was unable to stop in time and the front of the vehicle hit a bicycle that was passing on the pedestrian crossing. The cyclist, Jorgo Quka, suffered serious injuries from the impact and died on the spot.
"This crime is punishable by at least four years of imprisonment, which means that the incident is classified as the most serious road crime," the PTHP statement said. /Telegraph/
