Iseni: 300 Albanians have been promoted in the police in a year and a half

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Astrit Iseni, in the "1+1" interview on TVM2, speaking about the "Safe City" project, said that it has been insisted from the beginning that SMS notifications from the police also arrive in the Albanian language.
According to him, this was also discussed at the last meeting of leaders called by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, which was opened by one of the leaders of VLEN, Bilall Kasami.
"Since there have been other requests regarding 'Safe City' that have been addressed in the recent period, what we need to respond to is that the SMS messages come in Macedonian. For us, this normally poses a problem and we need to raise this issue higher. At the last meeting of leaders, it was also discussed that the SMS for fines should also come in Albanian, where one of the leaders of VALEN raised this issue as very important", said Iseni.
According to him, previous points regarding the representation of the Albanian language, such as on uniforms, vehicles and everywhere else, have also been agreed upon, so that these can be regulated based on the constitution.
"We stand firm on this and I have raised my voice from the beginning that every material that comes out of my cabinet should be bilingual and we are trying to remedy the problems of the previous government," Iseni emphasized.
Regarding the advancement of Albanians to leadership positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Iseni said that in this aspect we are doing excellently.
"In a year and a half, around 300 Albanians have been promoted, so in terms of promotions in positions, there are former deputy ministers who have not managed to reach dozens in a four-year period. It is commendable, but we have not done much advertising or PR and we have let the deeds speak for themselves," underlined the number two of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Astrit Iseni.
