Kosovo has recorded seismic activity in recent days, according to data published by the international website VolcanoDiscovery, which monitors seismic movements worldwide.

According to this data, in the last 24 hours, several earthquakes with a magnitude above 2 have been recorded in Kosovo, with the strongest reaching magnitude 4.8.


15 earthquakes in one week

The report shows that over the last seven days, a total of 15 earthquakes have been recorded in the territory of Kosovo, with a maximum magnitude of up to 4.8.

Of these, one earthquake was above magnitude 4, another was between magnitude 3 and 4, six earthquakes were recorded in the range from 2 to 3, while seven other tremors were below magnitude 2, which are usually not felt by citizens.

According to VolcanoDiscovery, the strongest earthquake recorded tonight, with an epicenter in the Štrpce area, was 4.6.

Long-term earthquake statistics

Statistical data show that over 300 earthquakes of various magnitudes have been recorded in Kosovo and surrounding areas over the last 12 months, most of them with low intensity.

In the last ten years, the total number of recorded earthquakes exceeds 2 thousand.
