Automotive continues to grow in Albania.
Official data from the Road Transport Directorate shows that 33 types of vehicles circulate in our country. Most of them are cars.
In December alone, 9,273 motor vehicles entered Albania, 26% more than in November.
In total, over the past year, nearly 100 thousand vehicles were imported to Albania, or nearly 1 thousand more than in 2024. Half of them were registered for the first time in the capital.
In the last two months alone, 16 vehicles have entered Albania, an increase of 7% compared to 2024.
Compared to 2019, we have 101% more vehicles in 2025.
What is striking about car imports is their age in production. Over 55% of imported vehicles are 8–15 years old.
Vehicles entering Albania are imported from South Korea, Germany, Italy, China, Switzerland and the USA. Currently, there are over 1 million vehicles in circulation in Albania. This means that one in two Albanians in our country already owns a vehicle.
