The Kosovo Police has announced that the Entry/Exit System (EES) - a new European Union digital system for recording the entry and exit of travelers - will enter into force on October 12, 2025.

This system applies to all non-EU citizens, including citizens of Kosovo, who travel to Schengen area countries.

What changes?

There will be no more stamps in the passport – registration will be done digitally.

Entry and exit from the EU will be automatically recorded.

The system will include fingerprints and a photograph of each traveler.

The police appeal for caution and early information from citizens, so that the border crossing process is faster and without delays.

This change is part of new EU measures for higher security and more efficient border management.
