Thiago Silva has revealed the behind-the-scenes story behind Kylian Mbappe's arrival at Paris Saint-Germain, also speaking about how the relationship between him and Neymar later deteriorated.
In an interview with Ligue1+, the former captain of the Parisian club recalled the moment when the French striker expressed his desire to join the PSG project.
"I remember very well the French Super Cup against Mbappe's Monaco, which we won 2-1. At the end of the match he came to me and said: 'If Neymar comes, I want to come too.'
"'You can talk to the president. I want to be part of this team too.' Neymar signed and then Mbappe came. From the beginning, an incredible friendship was created," Silva said, highlighting the early chemistry between the two stars.
He added that later things changed between them.
"Then, a few years later, what happened happened. I'm a little disappointed with the way everything ended. It should have gone differently," the Brazilian concluded.
