Icardi mocked him on social media, Mourinho hits back at the Argentine in a stinging way
Fenerbahçe coach Jose Mourinho has hit back at Galatasaray's Mauro Icardi as their online feud continues.
The Portuguese had accused their rivals of having too much handball in an Instagram post earlier this week.
His comments referred to the refereeing standard in the Turkish Super League.
Icardi responded to his insult by calling Mourinho "The Crying One", mocking the Portuguese's famous nickname "The Special One".
"I'm sure I'm special, not special," Mourinho declared in a press conference on Wednesday.
"With 25 years of career and 26 titles – not with one match. There is no match to define my career. My career is a 25-year career."
"Regarding Icardi's comments or social media posts, Icardi is a GOAT. I refuse to comment on the words of a GOAT. He is too big - I don't comment," the Portuguese declared ironically.
Last month, Mourinho claimed there are too many "scandals" in Turkish league matches after a controversial match between league leaders Galatasaray and Goztepe.Telegraph/
