PIK reviews complaint about police reaction at Mitrovica's National Police Headquarters

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (KPI) received a complaint and information yesterday evening regarding the police response at the Municipal Vote Counting Center (MTC) in South Mitrovica.
According to the announcement, PIK investigators have arrived at the scene and have begun to undertake preliminary investigative actions to verify allegations that police officers have undertaken investigative actions at the NCC without the authorization of the competent prosecutor.
"The actions were taken based on the legal authorizations of the PIK, taking into account the aspect of the operational independence of the police. Based on the initial investigative actions that have been taken so far, it is suspected that the police officers who reacted and entered the NCC did not comply with some of the procedures foreseen in the KP Operational Plan prepared for this electoral process," the announcement states.
"However, PIK will also take other actions in full coordination with the State Prosecutor's Office, including consultations with the Central Election Commission to clarify all the circumstances of this case," the statement said.
KosovaPress reported that regional investigators have arrived at the Counting Center in South Mitrovica, following reports of irregularities during the voting process on November 9.
Yesterday, PDK commissioners, during the counting process, noticed irregularities such as ballots with a certain serial number, which belonged to one voting class, being found in another class, and even in other voting centers, therefore they immediately alerted the law enforcement agencies and the counting process has now been stopped.
