The Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo (IHMK) has announced that in recent days, increased values of air pollutants have been recorded in several areas of the country.

According to the announcement, the decrease in temperatures has increased the use of heating, leading to an increase in pollutant emissions, reports Telegraph.

The deterioration of air quality has also been favored by the presence of dense fog, high air humidity, lack of winds, and the thermal inversion phenomenon, which facilitate the accumulation of pollutants in the lower layers of the atmosphere.

The IHMK recommends that sensitive individuals limit prolonged outdoor exposure until conditions improve.

The institute is continuously monitoring the situation and promises to inform the public of any significant changes in the air quality situation.

The announcement also includes images showing real-time air conditions and the effects of the dense fog of recent days. /Telegrafi/
