IFC is investing in the green and quality retail and office infrastructure of Prishtina Mall Sh.A. in Kosovo, with the aim of strengthening regional economic integration, supporting private sector development, preserving thousands of jobs, and promoting energy efficiency initiatives.

This investment represents IFC's largest engagement in the private sector and the first syndicated financing in Kosovo, with a total value reaching up to 75 million euros.


An official signing ceremony was held at Prishtina Mall, with the participation of senior government officials, World Bank Group representatives, IFC regional leaders, as well as Prishtina Mall investors and management, including many honored guests.

Senior representatives from key Kosovo and international institutions praised this historic partnership, emphasizing its importance in strengthening investor confidence and promoting green economic growth.

Visar Perani, Head of IFC's office for Kosovo and North Macedonia, stated:“This investment supports IFC’s strategic priorities in Kosovo, expanding formal employment in the private sector and strengthening environmental sustainability. It aligns with our efforts to create more quality employment opportunities, including for youth and women, while promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency to address the country’s high carbon energy mix.”".

Thanks to financing from IFC, Prishtina Mall will become one of the first shopping complexes in Kosovo with the certification EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), emphasizing its commitment to green and energy-efficient development. The planned installation of 4.5 megawatt-hours of solar power, along with other sustainability measures, will further improve the mall's environmental performance and sustainability.
