Balje: I will not vote for Kurti or any government without meeting the conditions of Bosniaks

The leader of the Social Democratic Union (SDU) and MP from the Bosniak community, Duda Balje, has stated that her vote for the formation of the government will be conditioned on the fulfillment of demands related to the interests of the community she represents.

"If I win a seat in the Assembly and Albin Kurti or someone else is in power to form the government, I will not vote for any government without fulfilling the conditions I have on paper. Our demands include the establishment of a Bosniak municipality, education reforms, respect for the language and concrete moves for the employment of Bosniaks in Kosovo," Balje declared on RTVD.

She added that commitment to the issues of the Bosniak community remains her priority and that she will not compromise with the demands that are vital for the representation and improvement of the conditions of this community.

Balje stated that small communities, including the Bosniak one, do not have the logic to be in opposition, but should be part of the position to better address their needs.

"We as a community, like other small communities, it is not logical to be in opposition. We are very small and we need to be part of the position. Usually, after the war until today, we have always been part of the government, regardless of which Albanian party has won," Balje emphasized.

When asked whether she would vote for Kurti for prime minister if her vote were decisive, Balje suggested that representatives of small communities tend to cooperate with the position to guarantee their representation in decision-making.
