"I love Italy and Albania, with Iceland we must stick to our principles" - Foda talks about the draw and the play-off match

The selector of the Kosovo National Team, Franco Foda, has given an interview for the show "EKIPI A" on ATV, where he talked about future challenges and his preferences for opponents in the World Cup qualifiers.

When asked which national team he would like to face in the qualification phase for the 2026 World Championship, Foda mentioned two teams: Albania and Italy.

"I am half Italian, my father who is no longer alive was Italian, so I would like to play against Italy. I would also like to play against Albania because it is very close and it would be good', declared Foda.

Foda was asked about his expectations for the Nations League play-off against Iceland.

"Iceland has an athletic team and there are many good players who play outside their country. Some of them play in Germany in Bundesliga 2, and in the Championship of England. One of the players plays with Zagreb in Lille. Iceland has good players. But I am convinced that if we stick to our principles, we have all the qualities and opportunities to win both matches", declared Foda.
