"I drank 2 single shots of raki and mixed up my ticket", the story of the Englishwoman who accidentally landed in Albania

Alice Taylor from England was the character this Sunday on Euronews Albania where she shared details from her life in Albania.

She confessed that she initially visited Tirana because it was the cheapest ticket she could get while she was in Cyprus, and then her stay from 3 days became 3 weeks after 2 glasses of raki made her choose the wrong ticket.

However, it was these three weeks that changed her life, as from that moment she decided to return to Cyprus to take all her belongings and move to Albania, where she has now lived for 7 years.

"I was going to stay in Tirana for three days. On the second day I had an ear problem and after seeing a doctor, he told me to postpone the trip for another three days because it would be dangerous to fly with an earache. I went to buy medicine, I stopped at a cafe. There were two old men there who were curious to talk to me, they didn't know English, I didn't know Albanian, but we started to communicate. The woman at the counter offered me two single shots of raki. Then I went to the hotel where I had to postpone my ticket."

"I was going to type on my laptop for three more days, but because I had drunk a little raki, I booked a ticket for 3 weeks. I stayed for three weeks, I was alone, but I felt safe. I walked alone, I went out to dinner, the people are very friendly. Then I went back to Cyprus, I went and took all my clothes, my three cats and came to Albania," said Taylor.
