Investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation went this morning (Friday) to the house of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, with a warrant to check the phone of his wife, Ajola Xoxa.
Meanwhile, Mayor Veliaj is on a two-day visit to Hamburg, where, as his press office has announced, he held meetings with the First Mayor of Hamburg, Peter Tschentscher, and the President of the Hamburg Parliament, Carola Veit.
The sources inform that at the time the BKH investigators went to the mayor's house, his wife and minor son were there.
SPAK has not yet come out with an official announcement regarding the decision to search the phone of Veliaj's wife, but from unofficial sources it is known that an investigation has been launched against the mayor for the declaration of assets.
