"I've never seen a club like this in Europe," Gattuso explains why he's leaving Hajduk

Gennaro Gattuso confirmed in today's press conference before the derby against Rijeka that he will leave the Hajduk Split bench at the end of the season.

The match against Rijeka in the 35th round of the HNL will be Gattuso's last at Poljud, and in the last round in Sibenik he will say his final goodbye to the Split team.

"This will definitely be my last match in Split. I have one more year of contract with Hajduk, but I am working with my lawyer to make it my last match. Nothing about the money, I don't want a termination fee because I'm not that kind of person. I don't deserve money for something I didn't do, only for what I did," Gattuso initially said.

The Italian coach also stressed that he was proud to have been given the opportunity to manage Hajduk because of the fans' love for the club, but he harshly criticized the club's management.

"Hajduk is a great club with a great history. They haven't won anything for a long time and they deserve it."

"The club can hardly function like this. A different style of club management needs to be used. Let's just say, I haven't met the people who run the club for months. I've never seen a club run like this anywhere in Europe. I can't understand that the Supervisory Board has more authority than the club president and that it is managed like this," the Italian concluded. /Telegraph/
