Huawei's ultra-luxury limousine combines Rolls-Royce and Maybach

The Maextro S800 costs less than the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and is clearly inspired by it.

This luxury limousine will be offered in all-electric versions, and as an extended-range electric vehicle, reports the Telegraph.

Huawei introduced the Maextro S800 last year and is now revealing its ultra-luxurious interior for the first time.

It's no surprise that the design is heavily inspired by Mercedes-Maybach and Rolls-Royce models.

The driver sits behind a stylish two-tone steering wheel and looks at a screen that closely resembles Mercedes' MBUX Hyperscreen.

Exact dimensions are not given, but for comparison, the Mercedes EQS has a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 17.7-inch infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger – all connected into a single unit.

Mercedes design cues are evident elsewhere, too. The metal speaker grilles mimic the Burmester system, and the doors have seat adjustment controls, in the style of those found in Mercedes vehicles.

In addition, there are digital screens that (in collaboration with external cameras) replace the classic rearview mirrors, then two wireless phone chargers and wooden inserts in the center console.

Designers have also added a stylish rotating display, as well as metallic details, and customers will enjoy the luxurious combination of leather materials.

However, the real star of the interior is the space for the rear passengers. There are two separate seats with electric adjustment and a footrest.

The front passenger seat can be moved forward to create even more space for a comfortable ride.

The seats are separated by an elegant leather and wood console, which features retractable folding tables, a champagne glass holder and a drawer. A refrigerator is also expected, as well as an entertainment system for rear passengers.

Above the passengers is a star-lit roof, modeled after a Rolls-Royce, and the doors have screens similar to those in the BMW 7 Series.

This luxury model will be launched later this year and has a length of 5,480 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm.

This makes the Maextro S800 10 mm longer than the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, but with a 25 mm shorter wheelbase.

An extended-range version is planned, with a smaller 63.3 kWh battery, which will offer a range of 258 to 311 kilometers in electric-only mode.

The starting price is said to be one million yuan, or about 120,000 euros. This is a pretty good deal compared to the price of the Mercedes-Maybach S480 in China, which starts at 1.48 million yuan (about 180,000 euros). /Telegraph/
