How much water should you drink per day? Agron Rexhepi shows the formula according to body weight

Sports doctor and nutritionist, Agron Rexhepi, during the podcast "Health First", supported by United Hospital has spoken about the importance of proper water consumption, emphasizing that general recommendations such as "6-7 glasses" or "8-10 glasses per day" are not always accurate for each individual.
According to him, these guidelines are very general and do not take into account a person's body weight or level of physical activity.
"Some say 6-7 glasses, some say 8-10 glasses. But none of these are accurate, because 6-8 glasses are not the same amount for a 50-kilogram person as they are for another person weighing 100 kilograms or more," he said.
Rexhepi emphasized that a much more accurate indicator of daily hydration is calculation by body weight.
According to him, it is recommended to consume about 30 milliliters of water for every kilogram of body weight per day.
"For example, if a person weighs 80 kilograms, they need a minimum of 2.400 milliliters of water per day, and this applies if they sit all day and do not have any physical activity. If they do physical activity, then this amount should increase by 8-10 percent," he explained.
He added that proper hydration is essential not only for physical performance, but also for optimal body functioning, concentration, and overall health.
