How much money do football referees earn in the Kosovo Super League, those in the region, and how much in the main European leagues?

Football referees often inadvertently become the main actors in matches, and we hear comments about their officiating every week.

In recent years, the level of refereeing has increased greatly in Kosovo, but there is still room for improvement.

Kosovo has 13 FIFA-certified football referees. Four of them are head referees, while nine are assistant referees.

But in the Kosovo Super League, there are many more referees, while the lottery system allows many of them to be there almost every week, thanks to the luck of the draw.

But how much do referees earn for a match in the Kosovo Super League?

The Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) has set fees for referees for this season, as in the past, for a match.

The main referee in a Kosovo Super League football match receives 200 euros, while the two assistants receive 150 euros each.

The VAR referee receives 100 euros, while the AVAR referee receives 80 euros. The match delegate is paid 100 euros, the same as the fourth official.

If, hypothetically, an elite judge judges in 36 rounds, he would earn 7200 euros, which is very rare to achieve.

Until 2020, the fee for a referee in the Kosovo Super League was 100 euros.

How much do judges earn in Albania and Croatia?

Although the Albanian Football Association does not state how much football referees are paid in Albania, it is learned that the salary of a head referee is 400 euros. Other referees are paid less.

The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) increased referee fees ahead of the start of this season. The main referee receives 500 euros per match, the assistant referee 280 euros per match, while VAR referees receive a fee of 140 euros.

Delegates earn 200 euros each. Croatian judges do not have fixed fees and can earn a maximum of 2500 euros per month if they are employed every weekend.

How much do referees earn in the major leagues?

When comparing the region with the elite of European football, the difference is huge. In the Premier League, there are salary levels where those with experience earn around 300 thousand euros per year. Young referees are paid 210 thousand euros per year and this is only from Premier League matches.

There are three categories in Serie A. The best earn between 150 and 200 thousand euros per year in salaries and fees. The middle category of referees earns between 100 and 150 thousand euros per year. New referees in Serie A earn between 70 and 100 thousand euros per year.

Spanish referees earn even more. They earn an average of 12.500 euros per month and with fees for European, domestic and national matches they earn up to 250.000 euros per year.

Their French colleagues receive a fixed salary of 7200 euros per month, 3375 euros for domestic matches, 5000 euros for European matches and 10000 euros for national team matches. /Telegraph/
