How Ter Stegen rejected Ronald Araujo's request - left fans stunned
In September 2024, Marc-Andre ter Stegen suffered a devastating knee injury that sidelined him for seven months.
While the Barcelona captain was out, the captain's armband constantly changed hands — Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Ronald Araujo, Robert Lewandowski … even Gavi held it at one point.
Now that the German is back on the field, the team decided to return the captain's armband to the player who truly belongs.
Before the trophy ceremony following their Copa del Rey triumph, Araujo went to hand over the captain's armband to the German, who initially refused it.
However, after a brief exchange of words, the defender managed to convince him and the captain's armband was handed to him — an elegant gesture from the Uruguayan. /Telegraph/
