The MP from Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Avdullah Hoti, has reacted to recent developments regarding Albin Kurti's agreement with the European Union to find a modality for the Law on Foreigners.

Hoti has criticized the government, saying that Prime Minister Kurti is now being forced to deal with the normalization of the functioning of parallel structures, after several years of sanctions and criticism from the European Union and international allies.

According to him, at the beginning of his mandate in 2021, Kurti had abandoned the dialogue for mutual recognition and a final, comprehensive, legally binding agreement with Serbia.

Hoti emphasized that at that time there was broad agreement with international allies that dialogue should only be held towards such a final agreement.

"That final agreement would address all remaining issues in the technical dialogue, taking into account international norms and standards for the normalization of interstate cooperation," Hoti wrote.

"Kosovo must certainly be ready for dialogue with its northern neighbor, always with the mediation of allies. But no one has the right to accept solutions, even though they may seem technical, that normalize the functioning of parallel structures. The establishment of a 'status quo' should not be accepted," Hoti continued in his reaction./Telegrafi/
