Kosovo's young handball players (U18) have written a new page in sports history by qualifying for the World Championship in Egypt.

This achievement was secured after a dramatic 34-30 victory over Nigeria in the final of the "IHF Trophy Intercontinental" tournament, which took place at the Palace of Youth and Sports in Pristina.

The final match was a tough and exciting fight. Both halves of the match ended with a score of 13-13, while in regular time, the score was 26-26.

In the most dramatic moments, Kosovo goalkeeper Olt Kabashi made 11 important saves, while Amar Muqolli, who was named the best player of the final, scored the goal that sent the match into overtime.

In overtime, Kosovo showed resilience and overturned Nigeria with a final score of 34-30.

Muqolli, a Besa Famga player, scored 9 goals, while Granit Kadiri contributed with 7 goals. Erion Bajramaj and Ilir Istrefaj assisted with 4 goals each.

Kosovo's journey in this tournament was impressive. It started with two wins in the group stage: 30-27 against Nigeria and 36-15 against New Caledonia. In the semi-finals, Kosovo defeated the United States 27-26, before repeating the success against Nigeria in the final.

This historic qualification takes Kosovo to the World Championship in Egypt, which will take place from August 6 to 17.  /Telegraph/
