In the trial of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, the final block of Defense witnesses in this court case has begun.

This was announced by the Special Court through a media release, where it emphasized that the final witnesses will testify this week and next week.

Among the witnesses expected for this phase are well-known international names.

"Former US Ambassador Christopher Hill began testifying on Monday, November 10, and another witness is expected to testify by the end of the week," the announcement said.

Meanwhile, former NATO commander Wesley Clark is scheduled to begin testifying next Tuesday, November 18.

Sessions for his testimony are also scheduled for November 19 and 20, while November 21 is planned as a reserve day, in case of need.

The DHSK announces that all sessions next week are currently scheduled to begin at 09:00 and are expected to be largely public.

The announcement recalls that the initial indictment against the four defendants was confirmed on October 26, 2020, and amended on September 3, 2021, April 29, 2022, and September 30, 2022.

The less redacted version of the indictment was filed on February 27, 2023.”

According to the KLA, “each of the defendants is charged on the basis of individual criminal responsibility with six counts of crimes against humanity” and “four counts of war crimes.”

The indictment alleges that the crimes for which charges have been filed were committed from at least March 1998 to September 1999 and occurred in several locations in Kosovo, as well as in Kukës and Cahan in Northern Albania.

The court emphasizes that "the defendants have pleaded not guilty to all charges." /Telegraph/
