"High prices force us to work even in old age", pensioners unhappy with 30 euro increase

Pensioners today received their basic pension with a 30 euro increase, making it 150 euros. However, they say this pension is insufficient for them.
According to them, the current amounts do not even cover basic needs.
Pensioner Sabit Rrmoku said that current pensions are not enough for even ten days and should be calculated as 70% of the salary the pensioner received while working. He said that with a salary of around 760–800 euros, the pension should be 500–600 euros. Rrmoku also added that court decisions on pre-war pensions are not being implemented and that the lack of funds remains a major problem.
"First of all, the government does not respect the court's decisions. The court has ruled that you cannot give full pensions to those who had 15 years before the war but they do not have a fund, the fund is missing. The others did it for 26 years after the war and it is possible to create a fund and the money is not given to them. The trust is for 3-4 years and there has never been any salary here. 180 euros. I had a salary until 2010. This pension is not even enough for 10 days. The pension should be, for example, 70 percent of the salary. I, for example, had a salary of 760-800 euros. I retired 3 years ago. The pension should be 70 percent of the salary. Now it should be 500 euros or 600 euros," said Rrmoku.
One citizen said that he currently receives a pension of 420 euros, emphasizing that the pension situation is also being affected by the non-approval of the budget.
"Without the budget being approved, the Serbs are not approving the budget... I have a 420 pension," he said.
Meanwhile, Behxhet Neziri is forced to work because the pension he receives is not enough.
"We don't have money, but I work, I'm 65 years old and I retired but I still work and have continued to work, I work in insurance, a normal salary of 460 euros and 120 because we never had 150 euros. The pensions we want are not there, they don't give them, over 200, we said 200 would have been enough for medicines," he said.
Otherwise, today pensions were increased from 120 euros to 150 euros. While for people with disabilities, pensions were increased from 75 to 150 euros./Kosovapress
