The Basic Court in Prizren, Serious Crimes Department, the trial judge – Shpresa Emra – has ordered the defendant Ferzidin Boza to be remanded in custody for one month, due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of 'aggravated murder'.

The announcement further states that whether these facts will be substantiated will be assessed in the subsequent stages of the criminal procedure.

"When ordering pre-trial detention, the Court took into account the gravity of the criminal offense, taking into account the manner and circumstances in which the offense is suspected to have been committed, within the family environment, and taking into account the defendant's determination to commit the offense, by using violence and suffocation against the family member, therefore at this stage, ordering pre-trial detention is necessary and reasonable.

"Also taking into account the personal characteristics of the defendant, previously convicted for similar offenses where the injured party was precisely the TB victim, and in order to ensure the proper conduct of the criminal procedure, a psychiatric examination will be ordered against the defendant, the Court has concluded that ordering pre-trial detention is necessary to ensure his presence in the investigative procedure, which is in the initial phase," the announcement states.

From the above, the Court has concluded that in the present case, the imposition of detention on remand for the defendant is opportune and necessary for the proper conduct of the investigative procedure.

Also, the Pre-Trial Judge, on 22.01.2026, issued an order for the UCCK, the Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, to conduct a psychiatric examination as soon as possible, but no longer than two weeks from the date of issuance of the order.

And after the examination is completed, the report and expertise will be submitted to the Basic Prosecution Office of Prizren and the Pre-Trial Judge. /Telegraph/.
