Days ago, Besian Mustafa from the Democratic League of Kosovo said that the LDK made a grave mistake when it voted for Hashim Thaçi from the Democratic Party of Kosovo for president.

Related to this, Ganimete Musliu from the Democratic Party of Kosovo reacted today.

Musliu writes in a Facebook post that the LDK's gross mistake was not Hashim Thaçi, but the silence, fear and chronic lack of political courage of this party.

"Besian Mustafa said that voting for Hashim Thaçi for president was a "gross mistake by the LDK." No. The LDK's gross mistake was not Hashim Thaçi. The LDK's gross mistake was silence, fear, and a chronic lack of political courage.

"It was the inability to face the truth and the lack of courage to openly criticize Donika Gërvalla, Faton Peci and Vjosa Osmani, feeding false illusions that they would return the lost votes and repair the colossal damage they themselves caused to the LDK," she writes.

According to Musliu, this silence became even more severe when LDK turned a blind eye to the numerous scandals that marked the mandate of Faton Peci in government, Donika Gërvalla in diplomacy, and Vjosa Osmani in the presidency.

"From mismanagement and contested decisions, to political arrogance, violation of institutional standards and damage to the democratic functioning of the state. Everything was tolerated in the name of low political calculations. With this behavior, LDK not only failed as an opposition, but became complicit through silence.

The LDK chose to bow down, not to confront. It chose to hope, not to act. Thus, it became a cowardly, unstable entity, unworthy of the historical burden it claims to bear.

"LDK's problem is not the past; its problem is the lack of courage to tell the truth today," she said. /Telegraph/
