Former England striker Alan Shearer has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo's behaviour, calling it inappropriate for his level and status.

Earlier, the Portuguese striker missed the league match against Al-Riyadh, which his team won 1-0. It was also reported that he did not take part in training after that match.

Before that, it was revealed that Ronaldo is unhappy with the way the Saudi Arabian Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) is managing his club, compared to rivals, especially Al-Hilal. There were also reports that the Portuguese was against Karim Benzema's transfer to Al-Hilal, considering it "harmful to competition".

Shearer also reacted to the developments in the Saudi League, criticizing Ronaldo for being overpaid and deciding to go on "strike."

"Not many people earn more than 400 euros a day and decide to go on strike. It must be nice to say you're not going to work, no matter how much money you make."

"When you think about it, it seems strange. He's a superstar, but a strike at that level seems bad," he said.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has also refused to play against Al Ittihad, and it is not known how long he will continue this stance.Telegrafi
