Hazir Haziri, arrested in Serbia in September last year, is released, Koci speaks

Hazir Haziri, the Albanian citizen arrested in Serbia on September 8, 2025 at the Merdara border crossing, has been released by Serbian authorities.
The news was announced by his lawyer, Arianit Koci, through a post on Facebook.
According to the lawyer, Haziri's release shows that the arrest was unfounded and based on allegations without facts.
Koci underlines the importance of Kosovo citizens having immediate legal support whenever they face unjust detention abroad.
"As a lawyer, I will continue to work to ensure that no citizen of the Republic of Kosovo remains unprotected in Serbian prisons, regardless of the circumstances or unfounded accusations. This is a professional and human responsibility," he said.
Hazir's health condition is reported to be good.
