The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, said that without 30 signatures of candidates, the session cannot be called.

Asked after the meeting with the heads of parliamentary committees, Haxhiu said that everything will be finalized on March 4, but there is no way without signatures.

"Please discuss this issue with the representatives of the Vetëvendosje Movement. Of course, as an Assembly we must fulfill our responsibilities. As soon as I have the signatures, because you know that there must be 30 signatures from two candidates, we will call a session and proceed with this," said Haxhiu.

Haxhiu added that first of all, we will have meetings with all political parties, which are represented in the Kosovo Assembly.

"According to interpretations, everything will be finalized on March 4, but I cannot act without having the signatures of the candidates," said Haxhiu.

Haxhiu further announced that it has been decided that meetings with committee chairs will be regular, with the aim of increasing efficiency and avoiding delays.

"Some laws are ready and we agreed to proceed without delay. Past examples where draft laws have remained in parliamentary committees for years must end," Haxhiu stressed.

The focus of the discussion was also the filling of positions that depend on the Assembly.

According to her, there are 36 positions that need to be filled, while 14 of them require direct initiation by the Assembly. /Telegraph/
