Haxhi Avdyli, MP for the Vetëvendosje Movement, has confirmed that his party has an agreement with the Social Democratic Initiative, although not in written form, for co-government.

Avdyli said that he is not authorized to speak about the agreement, but added that the talks are "very positive" and that "the LVV now has 61 votes in the Assembly," but that it wants more than that.

"We have talks and the talks are very positive. We have nothing written, but on this very soon... We will come out to the public about this. I am not authorized to speak about this," said Avdyli, speaking for KTV.

Avdyli said on Thursday that Vetëvendosje "already has" the votes needed to form the new government.

"They know we have the numbers. We have 61, but we don't have 63 or 65. But we aim to increase them. We have 61 for sure," he said.

Kurti also met with the leaders of 10 non-Serb minority parties last week in an attempt to secure the necessary votes to form a new government, but it is not yet clear whether he has the support of all of them.

With three votes from Nisma and 10 from non-Serb minorities, Kurti's party would have 61 votes, the minimum required to form a new government.

The MP elected from the Vetevendosje Movement list, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, told the same television that the insistence of the opposition parties so far, to go to the vote on the constitution of the Assembly without consultation, was absurd and banal. She said that with these actions, the opposition is not letting the Vetevendosje Movement show whether it has the necessary numbers or not. As for whether the Social Democratic Initiative will enable it to reach 61 votes, she said that the leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, will show this in time.

Nisma, which ran in a coalition with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) in the February 9 elections, has not commented so far about the possible agreement with LVV, although Nisma leader Fatmir Limaj has been the only one who has left open the possibility of cooperation with Kurti from other Albanian parties.
