Harry Kane slams Bayern Munich teammates after 'criminal' mistake in Inter loss

England striker Harry Kane gave a brutally honest interview and 'criticised' his teammates after Bayern Munich's elimination by Inter in the Champions League.

Kane scored the opening goal of the evening at San Siro, but saw his side eliminated from the Champions League after a 2-2 draw (4-3 aggregate defeat) against Inter on Wednesday.

Inter progressed to the semi-finals by setting up a fantastic match against an extremely talented Barcelona side, while Bayern, without a doubt, will miss out on a chance to capture their seventh European crown.

And of course, that means Kane's wait for a trophy remains – although with the Bavarians currently six points clear of Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga, he is likely to secure a trophy later this season.

The England captain appeared to criticise his Bayern team-mates after the defeat on Wednesday.

"Football can be so cruel. To concede two goals from stoppage time today is criminal. It's hard to swallow," Kane initially said of the sport1.

"We've been practicing interceptions a lot - both offensively and defensively - and we've been really good at them this year. But it was definitely a blow to concede two goals like that right after we took the lead."

"Well, we've scored five goals in the last three games. It's not that we're not scoring. We had our chances at the end, we'll look back on some of them. But it's just difficult now after we gave it our all," the Englishman concluded. /Telegraph/
