Activist and representative of the Albanian-American community, Harry Bajraktari, has announced that he has sent an official letter to the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, regarding the ongoing trials of former Kosovo leaders in The Hague.
Through a Facebook post, Bajraktari emphasizes that in his capacity as an American citizen and representative of the Albanian-American community, he has expressed concern about the functioning of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, requesting greater commitment from the US to guarantee a fair and impartial process.
In the letter, he specifically mentions former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army and state institutions, including Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, as well as others who are being held in custody in The Hague.
According to Bajraktari, the United States, as a historic ally of Kosovo, must play an active role in ensuring that international standards of justice and human rights are fully respected during this process.
