Former leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has stated that the failure of the Assembly to elect the president within the constitutional deadline is a clear legal situation.

According to him, the Constitution stipulates that the president must be elected up to 30 days before the expiration of the current mandate, while the lack of this action by the Assembly constitutes a clear institutional problem.

"The failure of this parliament to elect the president until 30 days before the expiration of the current mandate is black and white," declared Haradinaj.

He said that if the president had not taken her actions through the decree, then the case could have ended up in the Constitutional Court for violating the Constitution.

"If the president had not issued the decree, someone could have sent it to the Constitutional Court for violating the country's Constitution. It would be a kind of coup," Haradinaj emphasized on Kanal10.

In his statement, he also mentioned the debates over previous interpretations of the Constitutional Court, including the period when Enver Hasani was at its head, emphasizing that there are also different professional opinions on these issues in the legal community.
