Hamza: I have no red lines for any political entity
The newly elected leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, responding to criticism from Enver Hoxhaj, said that the race for the party's leader was democratic and open.
Hamza also stated that immediately after the February 9 elections, when he met with party leaders and Albin Kurti in the municipality of Mitrovica, it was clear that the country would go to elections again.
He said that the previous party, in this case Vetëvendosje, has not taken the necessary actions, the necessary political agreements, to give the country institutions and not create an institutional vacuum, which has created a vacuum for the creation of institutions.
"Regarding meetings with leaders, and Kurti in certain circumstances and on certain topics, it was quite clear to me then that it would be difficult to address this situation without going to the elections again, because the winning party has not taken the necessary actions, the necessary political agreements, to give the country institutions and not produce the institutional vacuum that has been created, a prolongation or postponement of the creation of institutions," said Hamza.
Bedri Hamza elected new PDK chairman

Bedri Hamza was elected a few minutes ago as the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo. He was the only candidate for this position. Hamza received the trust of the delegates to lead the PDK, while there was not a single vote against. In contrast, Hamza began his speech at this convention by thanking...
At a press conference after being elected as chairman, he said that the convention was called according to the party's statute.
Regarding Hoxhaj's statements that the race was unequal because of former chairman Krasniqi, Hamza said that Krasniqi had the right to express his preferences since he only has one vote among the 400 delegates.
"There is no more democratic race than this one today. The race was open. These are the statutes and regulations and we must all respect them... the race was open and the time was the same for me and for all the others who wanted to enter the race. I have a friend, Mr. Hoxhaj, and we have been together in the PDK for 22 years. Of course, he is a personality who has made many contributions and I expect that together we will do the best within the PDK. This is democracy, that there are different opinions... the convention was organized in the best possible way. The race was open and when I was able to compete, so was any other candidate. Naturally, people have preferences and have the right to express their preferences, but here not only one delegate voted but over 400 delegates", he said.
Speaking about Ramiz Lladrovci, Hamza said that all those who have contributed to PDK should return to the party.
Hamza said they are open to discussing all issues with Lladrovci.
"We are open to discussing all issues. We are interested in everyone who has been in any phase of PDK returning to the party and continuing. There are always ways and opportunities to overcome the differences at certain moments," he stressed.
On the other hand, Hamza said that PDK is more prepared than ever before for the new elections.
"We are prepared and I expect the elections to be held soon. Of course, the election date is expected to be announced these days. We as PDK are well organized and have a good team and we are preparing the program and all the necessary preparations are being made for the representative list and I expect us to achieve good results," emphasized Hamza.
Speaking about the possible collaboration with LVV, Hamza said that there are no red lines.
"I have never set red lines for any political entity. Of course, we cooperate with all political parties for the benefit and interest of the country. Always within the rules and political agreement," Hamza concluded.
The delegates of the Democratic Party of Kosovo have entrusted a mandate to lead the party to Bedri Hamza.
Hamza received the votes of the majority of delegates, while there were no votes against.
