"The gym as an emotional refuge", Arbër Peci talks about the power of community in the fight against depression

During the episode of the podcast "Health First", which is supported by United Hospital, renowned fitness trainer, Arbër Peci has shared his views on the importance of community created in the gym, especially for those facing mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety.
"During depression, many people are demotivated, have no energy, and the first step that has a positive impact on alleviating depression is starting a gym," said Peci.
According to him, engaging in a physical routine, in addition to the physical benefits, plays an essential role in improving one's emotional and mental state.
Cap emphasized that the presence of a supportive community in the gym environment is often the push someone needs to not feel alone in facing difficulties.
"It would have been great if they had someone to support them, even though in the gym, as we know, they are all good people, positive due to the production of hormones, and they don't hesitate to help each other," he said.
The trainer praised the fact that physical activity stimulates the production of happiness hormones, such as endorphins and serotonin, creating a positive atmosphere among gym members.
"A community is created there that offers a very good feeling to overcome the phase of anxiety and depression," concluded Peci.
