Gunmen 'storm into soccer field' in Mexico, killing at least 11 people

At least 11 people were killed and several others injured when gunmen opened fire on locals who had gathered at a soccer field in the city of Salamanca in central Mexico on Sunday.
Witnesses said that armed men arrived at the stadium in several vehicles and shot at those gathered there indiscriminately, foreign media wrote, according to Telegraph.
Many families had stayed to socialize after a match between local clubs.
At least one woman and one child were among the dead.

The motive behind the shooting is still unclear.
Guanajuato, the state in which Salamanca is located, recorded the highest number of murders in all of Mexico last year.

Neighbors reported hearing at least 100 gunshots as gunmen opened fire in the Cabañas field in the Loma de Flores neighborhood.
Local and federal law enforcement are now investigating the deadly shooting. /Telegraph/
