Despite having already spent 152 million euros on reinforcements this January, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola wants to bring in one more player before the transfer window closes, British media reported on Friday.

City, who were considered one of the main favourites to win the Champions League before the start of this season, could be left without a place in the knockout stages of Europe's elite club competition. City are in 25th place with eight points, followed by Dinamo Zagreb, who also have eight points.

In the final round of the Champions League, on January 29, City host Belgian Club Brugge, who are 20th with 11 points. The top eight clubs enter the round of 16 directly, while the teams from 9th to 24th place will play in the play-offs to place in the 1/8. In terms of the English league, Manchester City is currently in fifth place, two points behind fourth place - where Chelsea is, which leads to the Champions League next season.

On Guardiola's wish list is Juventus midfielder Andrea Cambiaso, who the Old Lady are unwilling to let go mid-season unless they receive an "offer they can't refuse".

This, according to British media, could mean that Juve would surrender if offered €100 million.

Cambiaso can play as a defensive midfielder or an attacking left-back. In March last year, he made his debut for the Italian national team in a friendly against Venezuela and has so far made 13 appearances and scored two goals. He arrived at Juventus in July 2022 from Genoa for €13 million and last May he extended his contract with Juventus until June 2029.

In January, Manchester City signed Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt for €75m. It paid €40m to Lens for 20-year-old Uzbek defender Abdou Khusanov and 19-year-old Brazilian Vitor Reis, who arrived from Palmeiras, cost €37m. /Telegraph/
