Grok AI more accurate than doctors in diagnosis? Musk's video stirs the internet again

An old video of Elon Musk promoting the medical capabilities of Grok AI is making waves online again.
Originally shared in June 2025, the video shows the SpaceX and Tesla founder saying: "I think Al will be very useful with medical stuff. Right now you can upload your X-ray or MRI images to Grok and it will give you a medical diagnosis. I've seen cases where it's actually better than what the doctors tell you."

The clip resurfaced after Musk reposted on X a post from Tesla Owners Silicon Valley that highlighted an extraordinary case involving Grok.
The post claimed that in late 2025, a 49-year-old Norwegian man credited xAI's Grok with saving his life after a misdiagnosis.
According to the story, the man experienced severe abdominal pain for more than 24 hours.
An initial visit to the emergency room resulted in a diagnosis of acid reflux and a prescription for antacids.
Still in pain, he consulted Grok, who signaled a possible ulcer or appendicitis and requested an immediate CT scan.
Upon returning to the hospital, tests confirmed a severely inflamed, almost ruptured appendix.
An emergency surgical intervention followed, which led to a complete recovery.
