The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by Deputy Governor Nesrin Shileku-Shala and associates, during his official visit to Washington DC, held a meeting with the Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Alfred Kammer.
During the meeting, Governor Ismaili briefed Kammer on the latest developments in the financial sector of Kosovo, including progress in advancing the legal and regulatory framework aimed at strengthening the stability and integrity of the financial system. He also presented macroeconomic developments and progress in implementing structural reforms, in line with the CBK Strategic Plan.

Kammer praised the progress achieved by the CBK in maintaining financial stability and emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between the IMF and Kosovo, especially in areas that help economic development and strengthen the functioning of the financial system.
Governor Ismaili noted the successful completion of two key instruments of cooperation with the IMF – the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) and the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) – which have significantly contributed to the implementation of fiscal and structural reforms, as well as to maintaining the country's economic stability.
The discussion also addressed the concrete measures taken by the CBK to strengthen the capitalization and resilience of the banking sector, in the context of new global economic and geopolitical developments.
Governor Ismaili expressed his gratitude for the IMF's continued support through technical assistance and various programs, which have helped strengthen the institutional capacities of the CBK.
In conclusion, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue cooperation in order to fulfill common objectives for sustainable economic development and maintaining financial stability in Kosovo.
