Governor Ismaili in Washington: IMF appreciates Kosovo's achievements in economic sustainability

As part of his participation in the 2025 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), which are being held in Washington DC, the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by Non-Executive Board Member Hoxha, Deputy Governor Shileku-Shala and associates, held an important meeting with the Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, Bo Li, and his team.

During the meeting, Governor Ismaili presented the latest developments in the Kosovo economy, including the performance of the financial sector, progress in maintaining financial stability and advancing structural reforms. He appreciated the continued support of the IMF in strengthening the institutional capacities of the CBK and in the successful implementation of recommendations from IMF missions.

The Governor also highlighted the successful completion of two of the key cooperation programs with the IMF: the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) and the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF), which have significantly contributed to the progress of fiscal and structural reforms, helping to maintain the country's economic stability.


For his part, Deputy Managing Director Li praised Kosovo's progress in maintaining financial stability and emphasized the importance of further cooperation between the IMF and the CBK in areas with a direct impact on economic development and strengthening the financial system.

This meeting confirmed the mutual commitment to deepening the institutional partnership between the CBK and the IMF, in order to meet development objectives and sustainable economic growth in Kosovo.

The CBK delegation will continue bilateral meetings with senior IMF and WB officials during its stay in Washington DC.
